The Fangreaders Anniversary Writing Challenge

The Fangreaders are celebrating their first anniversary this month, and what better way to celebrate than with a bunch of fics?

This is not a contest, but a challenge to write us a story that revolves around some sort of anniversary.

Need some ideas? Just fill in the blanks in one of these sentences to get you started …

It’s been _ year(s) since Eric and Sookie _.

OR Alcide hasn’t _ Sookie for _ year(s).

OR _year(s) ago was the first time Sookie ever _.

OR Pam hasn’t _ a zombie in _year(s).

I think you get the idea.

Here are the rules:

If the story is rated M, you must be over 18.

No word limit.

AH, AU and canon are all welcome, but please use SVM characters.

No betas are required, but if you need one, check the Writer’s Corner and Beta Requests thread on The Sookieverse Forum.

Stories must be new and a one-shot. (You can continue them later if you’d like.)

The deadline is February 29, 2012.

Once you’ve posted your story to your profile, PM either Suki59, vicvega66 or Fairyblood to let one of us know and we’ll add the story to the Community for all to enjoy!

The Fangreaders Community is Going to Be 1 Year old!!

January 11th 2011 was the Grand Opening of a Chatzy chatroom where SVM/TB fanfic readers and authors from around the world could get together and talk about the fics they were reading.

We’ve met friends from around the world that share in our obsession for our fandom and have been a great support for each other. Our doors are always open for new people to come and join us~ the more the merrier! We’d all love to meet you so join today.

Looking back over the past year, we’ve done too much to just celebrate for one day. So the weekend of January 7th and 8th, The Fangreaders will be having our Anniversary Blowout Weekend. A weekend full of what makes our group so much fun. Look out for more details and more Fangtivities to make the most of this festive occasion.

Still not enough to celebrate, you say? How about an Anniversary Writing Challenge? Yes, calling all seasoned writers and newbies there’s a fun writing challenge that was suggested by Suki59. It’s not a contest, just a fun way to get everyone involved in the celebration.

Contest Details

Play as an individual or as a team
Teams must be 2 or 3 people & must designate a Team Leader to DM the Answer
After the Question has been posted, you have 90 seconds to respond via DM to @TBHoliday
After 2 minutes & 30 seconds, if no correct response has been received, the next question will be posted
First Correct Response will be Awarded 5 points
Second Correct Response will be Awarded 3 points
Third Correct Response will be Awarded 1 point
All Answers must be begin with the number of the question being answered or they will be disqualified.

Team with the most accumulated points at the end of the contest, wins.

Teams may communicate in any way they choose.
In the event of a tie, there will be a ‘Sudden Death’ Playoff where teams will be asked questions in turn, if one team cannot answer their question correctly, then it may be thrown over to the remaining team(s) to answer. First team to answer a question correctly, after all teams have been asked a question will be the winner.
Questions will be asked from both the HBO True Blood Show and the Charlaine Harris, Southern Vampire Mystery book series (Sookie Stackhouse Novels). So choose your team members wisely!
