True Blood Countdown Chat

Arggh We have to wait until the 26th of June for the Premiere of True Blood’s Season 4.  To help with our severe withdrawal, we are going to watch an episode of True Blood  together in the chatroom every Sunday until the Premiere.  We are going to start with Season 2 episode 1 today at 7pm GMT.  So get your DVDs ready.  If you plan on joining in and don’t have a copy of that episode please contact Fairy as soon as possible .

Merick came up with a great idea for Fangreaders Choice.  A Literary Dissection of story~ Read and discuss merits, literary devices & use of characters.  Thinking this is a great idea, I would like for this to be a once a week event.  Anyone interested in hosting this discussion, please contact JecaNS .  We’ll also need a reading list.

All About Eric has  suggested that we have a place for authors to get together and talk out any problems or ask questions about their writing.  I think this needs to be available anytime for authors so I’ll be setting up a separate chat room and send a link to ALL members to use whenever they like.

For months now I’ve been trying to find a way for our authors to display all their works together.   … A Fangreaders Library ~ What do you think??  Now you readers out there won’t be left out either.  You can recommend published works and other fics.  I can set up for all those that wish to be able to post their works/ links up as authors.  You can set the Labels as your pen name so all your works/updates are under one category.  If you are interested, please contact Fairy so I can set you up as an author for the blog.  (No snickering JecaNS ~ what’s one more blog *giggle*  )

Fangreaders Drabble Challenge – No.4.Prompt: Drums
Jan’s sample Drabble:
Her heart thundered in her chest, constant and steady, like a tribal call. She closed her eyes lightly and repeated her mantra.
“I can do this. I can do this.”
She let her hands sink into the water. Letting the ripples it created soothe her. This is what she had to do; she had to let the water cleanse her broken spirit. It was much deeper than it looked.
Before Sookie knew it, she was elbow deep in the water.
Shaking her head, she grabbed the sponge and squeezed out the excess liquid.
“Someone has to clean this damned house!”

There’s a new website in town for those that want  a story that will tickle your fangs.  Giggle Snort has opened it’s doors to ALL fandoms.  It’s THE place for funny fanfiction or original work.   The readers of this site have a wicked sense of  humour so it’s a great way to expand your fanbase.

Just a reminder that 22Wolf  would like all the banner makers and betas to get in touch so she can make a database to advertise your services.  In addition, Fairy would like all members to get in touch with their birthdays so we can do something special for you.  Also could you send me your location Town, State/Province, Country.  If you want to remain anonymous, could you please send a town/city that is close?  I’m working on a Google Map that will show how our group spans the globe.  It’s a fun lil project and looks very impressive.  Once completed (or close enough) I will embed it into our blog.

Jan’s sample Drabble:
Sookie couldn’t believe all of the things Bill had admitted to. She had her doubts, time and time again, but something stopped her from voicing her concerns. Was it fear of losing Bill’s love? Was Bill’s blood affecting her behaviour?
This time was different. Everything that came out of his mouth contradicted his actions. She could feel her body rejecting the controls that had been placed upon it. Finally, she found herself. Digging as deep as she could, her mouth opened. He would never manipulate her again.
“Love? You don’t even get to use that word! I rescind my invitation!"

We’ve had a pretty good response to the Lemon Tarts with 30 people nominating.  There’s an average of 4 to 5 fics listed under each category.   Been debating which is the best way to give you guys that extra say in the nomination process~ So tonite let’s talk Lemons and see if we can add a few more. I know it will be tough. This kind of research can be gruelling.   So get ready with some links and see if we can give out some Lemony Love.

After being inspired by the Sarifina’s Fic Soiled Dove of Deadwood, Nukemlee came up with a great challenge.
